Goodyear’s FOS Mobile system is a seamless approach to tyre management that brings operational and organisational benefits to the modern fleet operator.

FOS Mobile is the natural extension of Goodyear FleetOnlineSolutions, providing its technicians and field service engineers the means to capture tyre data from the truck in real time, synchronise with the FOS servers and give operators and account managers instant access to data on their tyre fleet, saving them time and money.

FOS Mobile inspections – FOSMi

Tyre failure analysis indicates that better tyre maintenance can prevent roadside breakdown in the vast majority of cases.

Issues generally include poor inflation and badly worn or misaligned tyres causing premature wear and the resulting problems.

Goodyear Dunlop has developed a FOS/SAP-integrated mobile tyre inspection application in order to:

'Schedule' inspections
Download assessment criteria to a PDA for inspections:

Record three tread depths per tyre
Record pressure
Indicate if tyre is hot or cold
Add vehicle tachometer reading
Make observations
Bluetooth-enabled
3G/UMTS/WiFi-enabled

By uploading this data back to a FOS/SAP Goodyear Dunlop technician, the fleet manager will receive four different reports just a few seconds after the inspection has been completed:

Mi1 Observations report
Mi2 Inspections report
Mi3 Summary report
Mi4 Inspection calendar

This means the fleet manager benefits from full fleet visibility and has access at any given time to a snapshot of the current fleet standing in terms of tyre management costs. This leads to:

FOS Mobile technical evaluation – FOSMte

FOSMte (FOS Mobile technical evaluation) can actively supervise your tyres on the road, from the moment we fit your new tyres to the time we remove them. It monitors truck and trailer tyre wear throughout the tyre lifecycle. At an early stage, it can highlight incorrect inflation, suspension defects or chassis misalignment.

This means that your TruckForce dealership can make the necessary alterations early enough to significantly prolong the tyre’s life. The system also suggests tyre combinations which are most efficient for your truck. What’s more, it offers advance warning on the appropriate time to replace tyres, allowing you to fit the work into your haulage schedule.
